What is the practical method for flushing large size piping such as 60" cooling water supply in process plants?

U/G cooling water lines in process units are in large size and cannot be flushed by water since low velocity. Also cleaning by rupture method is dangerous because of high volume of compressed air. What is the best way to flush such systems and is it necessary to flush such systems?

To flush the big pipe, either you have to increase more flow or change the pipe size to increase the velocity. However, this solution is not practical if the pipe is too long. Better approach is to perform mechanical cleaning such as using the 3D spray head to scrub out all the solid internally built up in the pipe.
