The Drilling Equipment Control System is typically based on PLC's, RI/O's & Intelligent Transducers on a dual network. They are:

  • Drilling information system including Visual Display Units (VDU)
  • Drilling Riser Tensioner (DRT) status and operation
  • Pipe handling control system, including fingerboard and bridge crane
  • Blowout preventer control system
  • Choke and Kill control system
  • Collision Avoidance Interlock System (drill floor and derrick equipment)
  • Emergency Shutdown (ESD) panel
  • Closed Circuit Television (CCTV)
  • Public address and alarm system
  • Trip tank control panel
  • Fire and Gas matrix panel
  • UHF unit ("fixed" mounted portable unit)
  • Deluge release in shaker area and drill floor
