What are the usual Completion activities before commissioning of a facility or unit?

Here are some activities that should take place during completion but not limited to:

  • Dimensional checks where required
  • Motors / pumps compressors pre-alignment checks & Hot alignment
  • Flushing and hydro-testing
  • Piping re-instatement & bolt tightening checks
  • Nitrogen/Helium leak testing
  • Oil flushing
  • Cooling & heating medium flushing
  • Cold loop checking
  • Hot loop checking
  • Valve timing checks (Safety & Control valves)
  • PSV Calibration Checks
  • Cause & Effect testing
  • Motor running check
  • Testing of large drives
  • Running of electric generators
  • Rotating equipment test
  • Generator and UPS Load test
  • Electrical Ex Checks
  • Preservation
