Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects in various phases of development while also providing support to Field Operations during job execution
  • Generate programs, procedures, and cost estimates based on the approved scope
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies and services
  • Participate in risk assessment processes, as required
  • Ensure standard engineering practices & corporate processes are rigorously followed
  • Ensure documentation of work activity, costs, and lessons are accurately captured in Well View
  • Communicate cost variance relative to planned activity on a regular basis
  • Develop and maintain workover metrics that directly support a culture of continuous improvement
  • Document deviations from job scope and track recommendations for future
  • Maintain communication with an integrated team to ensure decisions are made in an effective and timely manner
  • Lead technical improvement projects, as agreed upon with Supervisor
  • Elevate decisions and issues to Leadership team, in a timely manner
  • Lead After Action Reviews that capture lessons learned and improvement opportunities
  • Participate in industry forums to gather benchmarking data and best practices
  • Collaborate with Workover Engineers in other ConocoPhillips business unit to share knowledge and build local leading practices

Required Qualifications

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • 5+ years direct experience in Drilling, Completions, or Well work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting horizontal Completions operations in unconventional plays
  • Experience with mentorship, coaching and informal leadership
  • Well-developed communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Continuous learner that accepts feedback and is willing to ask for help
  • Innovative thinking, strong problem solving, proactive planning, and organizational skills
