The Role:

  • To provide specialist Engineering support internally, externally and within the field on issues encountered during repair, installation, commissioning and operation associated with a range of rotating equipment. The role extends to site investigations, troubleshooting, failure analysis and hydraulic performance / vibration assessments on centrifugal pumps and other rotating machinery.

Main Duties include:

  • Be the point of contact for technical queries from International Field Service and Sulzer Service Centre’s
  • Conduct Customer site visits on and offshore worldwide as required to investigate & troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Provide Field Service Engineers with technical recommendations to resolve site issues and/or develop technical proposals
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients to optimise customer satisfaction and take opportunities to make proposals for technical improvements
  • Undertake site test activities and generate Technical reports for clients (examples include vibration analysis of pumps & drivers, hydraulic acceptance testing using conventional, ultrasonic and thermometric test methods, acoustic sound testing)
  • Compilation of technical reports, including recommendations for equipment repair
  • Responsibility for ensuring that technical services offered are current with industry requirements and that equipment is maintained & calibrated
  • Able to perform necessary risk assessments & Method statements for related site activities
  • Maintain current site working certs (confined space, Safety passport, offshore, etc) as necessary

About you:

  • Experience in assembly, operation and/or testing of pumps and/or other rotating equipment
  • Appreciation of pump/system interactions
  • Knowledge of relevant Industry standards & requirements
  • Rotating equipment product design knowledge
  • Materials knowledge as related to product / Industry areas
  • Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent experience
  • HNC/Equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
  • Certified to necessary site working regulations (eg offshore, confined spaces, as required)
  • SAP experience – (Beneficial)
