The position is with an R&D Engineering team focused on design and development of software for oilfield services. Create an impactful relationship with Halliburton’s technical community, customers, and vendors by proactively collaborating with key stakeholders. Participate in professional societies in area of specialization. A comprehensive understanding of all elements of a successful software development program including but not limited to Code Inspections, Manual Testing, Automated Testing, Functional Requirements, Design, Usability, Test plans and Results and Defect Management is required. This position is integrally involved in planning future release as in estimating efforts required in Testing and Documentation and advising on product improvements based on experience gained from previous releases and customer feedback.
  • In this position, test developed software and support software releases through documentation of release notes and updating/creating relevant user guides, mentor testers with testing and automation, interact and coordinate efforts with other support functions as part of release management, and serve as support escalation manager.

Requirements

  • High proficiency with creating and executing test plans, strategy, and test cases/scenarios, validating functionality, perform regression testing, and creating/validating defects.
  • Must be able to perform code merges to maintain quality of products.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Test Manager, C# and other scripting languages is expected.
  • Skills are typically acquired through the completion of an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or similar discipline, and a minimum of 4 years of related experience or through 8 years of software and/or development experience.
