What will you be doing?

  • Responsibility for assigned mechanical equipment
  • Evaluation and selection of mechanical equipment and configuration
  • Specification of mechanical equipment, ensuring that statutory requirements, design basis, project specifications, discipline requirements, standards and corporate requirements are adhered to
  • Perform and coordinate technical bid evaluation for mechanical equipment
  • Technical follow-up, and multidiscipline coordination, of mechanical equipment supplies in cooperation with procurement
  • Ensure quality and timely delivery of all activities and deliveries within the mechanical group
  • Perform activities seeking development of products or processes
  • Report progress to discipline lead on activities and deliverables against project schedule

Depending on role the following may also be relevant:

  • Responsible for supervision and co-ordination of the process system design activities and interfaces in the group
  • Management of a group of mechanical engineers, giving supervision of the work of less senior engineers and advice on design details
  • Checking of documents and drawings produced within the mechanical group prior to approval and formal issue
  • Provide proper technical & leadership guidance as and when required to team members
  • Resolve team / project related & technical issues in coordination with internal and external stakeholders including clients
  • Ensuring discipline work outcome meets the schedule, cost & quality requirements
  • Enhance & improve standards, Procedures, Work Processes etc. to ensure continuous improvement within department
  • Ensure all discipline activities comply to our HSE framework

We think you should have:

  • A Bachelor's or Masters’ Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5 to 10 years' relevant industry experience is preferred, however those possessing other academic or vocational qualifications or who can demonstrate a greater level of relevant experience with a proven track-record, may be considered
  • Comprehensive mechanical equipment knowledge within one or more equipment categories:
  • Rotating equipment (compressors, generators, turbines, pumps)
  • Static equipment (heat exchangers, pressure vessels)
  • Utility equipment / process packages
  • Lifting / material handling equipment
  • Experience with evaluation, specification, and technical follow-up of mechanical equipment deliveries
  • Proactive in communication
  • Team working skills with the ability to work in an international environment
  • A strong multidiscipline understanding
