You will use your expertise to:

  • Develop detailed and executable short range mine plans
  • Assign and outline work, provide technical advice and review work for accuracy
  • Ensure alignment and communication of key inputs, constraints and interdependencies between stakeholders
  • Assess operational planning opportunities, risks and apply appropriate sensitivity analysis to quantify their impact
  • Work collaboratively and cross functionally to support the business
  • Provide strong people development with mentoring skills and an aptitude for determining potential strengths

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • 10+ years of experience in various mine planning, mine projects and/or mine operations roles
  • Good understanding of regulatory approval processes, integrated site wide water balance and key mine and tailings parameters
  • A post-secondary education in Mining, Civil or Geological Engineering
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with APEGA
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to understand complex issues
  • Well-developed communication skills and an ability to work in a multidisciplinary, integrated team environment
  • Ability to source information and drive outcomes across other groups.

Preference for:

  • Oilsands mine planning experience
  • Large scale open pit mine planning experience
  • Runge and MineScape software capability or other major mine planning packages
