Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be a professional engineer with a solid educational background in engineering fundamentals with an emphasis on civil engineering, AutoCAD Civil 3D modeling, and hydrologic modeling as well as excellent interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills and will be a proactive problem solver. This position offers the opportunity to lead engineering teams and mentor junior and mid-level engineering staff while executing the following roles/responsibilities:

  • Serve as lead role for the design of large civil works including mine reclamation, site remediation, and storm water management programs
  • Provide expert level drafting and design engineering modeling in AutoCAD Civil 3D and support for mining infrastructure including tailings storage facilities, dams, heap leach pads, ponds and impoundments, waste dumps, piping, roads, drainage, and other mine infrastructure
  • Perform advanced level support and design engineering computations
  • Foundation design and slope stability analysis is desired
  • Serve as engineer of record for select design efforts
  • Mentor junior and mid-level civil designers
  • Interface with clients to present design elements and design visualization

Skills / Qualifications

  • S. in Civil Engineering or related engineering degree
  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • 10 years + relevant engineering experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and HEC-RAS; familiar with MicroStation 3D CAD
  • Slope stability software experience is beneficial but not required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong academic background and solid understanding of engineering principles
  • Self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead large engineering efforts, organize and prioritize work to meet scheduled deadlines
  • Superior time management, planning and ability to interact with clients
  • Ability to think “outside the box” to create innovative engineering and design solutions
  • Must pass drug test, background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
