You will use your expertise to:

  • Provide mine plan mentorship to both technical and mine operations personnel
  • Craft, present, and complete final reports on productivity, geological and geotechnical risks, mining rates and equipment capabilities with originality
  • Devise new approaches and apply current processes in new ways every single day
  • Analyze technical data in real-time and draw conclusions from comparative situations
  • Independently plan and conduct projects to improve mine efficiency
  • Be a dedicated role model for safety policies, procedures and practices
  • Plan and organize work for the reclamation and sustainability of our growing operations

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • 5 – 10+ years of combined experience in mine planning, mine operations and/or mine projects
  • An undergraduate Science or Engineering degree in Mining, Civil or Geology
  • Been registered or are immediately eligible for membership with the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGA)
  • A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
  • The ability to work in a multidisciplinary, integrated team environment
  • Well-developed critical thinking skills, with an ability to apply logic and challenge assumptions, conclusions and make appropriate recommendations
  • Zero-tolerance for shortcuts, and if the procedure is incorrect, you fix it

Preference for:

  • Oil sand mining experience
  • Large scale open pit mining experience
