Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work with design engineers, customers, suppliers, functional leaders, to meet product requirements and projects on-time delivery needs;
  • Work cross-functionally in teams with sourcing, product, quality, planning, field support and others to improve first pass yield;
  • Responsible for ensuring proper design, sizing, development, life calculation, design documentation and testing (working with external test and validation resources) to prove out component functionality and reliability;
  • Develop a strong knowledge of the available component technical solutions and suppliers’ capabilities on the global market
  • Identify more cost-efficient ideas and strategies at component level as well as at system level to define the best electrical BOP suiting GE Hydro product solutions for the complete plant
  • Initiate, build, and lead technical programs for cost out or product improvement
  • Supports the tendering team to foster the application of these developments
  • Hold ownership of design related documents like component drawings, assembly drawings, BoM, etc.
  • In the frame of product support, drive resolution of issues arising during project execution, and provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
  • Drive best practices across organization – component specifications, partnership with suppliers, revised ways of working, better documenting of parts and assemblies, tracking issues to separate special cause "mistakes" from features needing improvements,

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering;
  • 5+ years of Electrical Engineering or other technical experience;
  • Experience on sizing electrical equipment (panels, batteries, transformers etc.);
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills;
  • Good English verbal and written language skills;
  • Ability to work with global team members across cultural boundaries;
  • Experience with electrical power calculations (short-circuit, power-flow, transient, CT sizing etc.);
  • Good knowledge on Electrical Protection Systems, Protection Relays and related Single line diagrams;

Desired:

  • Hydraulic Energy Generation experience;
  • Solid background in electrical design engineering;
  • Knowledge of 2D-CAD tools like AutoCad and calculation tools like Etap or ATP-ATPDraw;
