Overall Responsibilities:

  • Manage and perform the PG S/J lay installation analysis team so as to ensure succesful delivery of analysis activities on all projects supported by the pipeline group
  • Responsible for ensuring that standard of engineering services provided complies with relevant company engineering standards with a clear focus on commerciality of engineering solutions
  • Responsible for challenging - when encountered- relevant engineering standards having potential adverse impact on commerciality of engineering solutions and for reporting it to Pipeline Group Management
  • Promote safety culture and initiatives to the installation engineering team throughout the onshore and offshore delivery phases
  • Recommend new work methods to improve efficiency of PG installation engineering services
  • Manage and participate in technical reviews / audits as and when required
  • Ensure interfaces between Project Engineering Managers and PG Package leads work properly and intervene when necessary in a collaborative manner
  • Give direct engineering guidance to PG analysis engineers on specific subject matters

Rigid Pipeline Installation Analysis deliverables (projects & tenders)

  • Ensure installation analysis is fit for purpose while meeting client specifications
  • Ensure each installation analysis package is delivered as or better than the as-sold corresponding engineering hours budget by performing regular project reviews in collaboration with the relevant project engineering manager – Discuss/agree remedial actions with project engineering manager when necessary
  • Manage right level of installation analysis (value delivering) is produced focusing on safe and cost effective installation, client’s product integrity and budgeted engineering hours
  • Ensure proper use of Engineering S-Curves by relevant installation engineers and ensure right level of effective reporting is produced (avoid waste)
  • Participate in reviews of methods statement and pipelay philosophy (in collaboration with production engineering) during tendering phases so as to ensure proposed methodologies are safe, cost / time effective, in line with client specification and risks & opportunities properly identified

Resource management & department operations:

  • Coordinate with the Installation Engineering Team Leader – Pipeline Group in order to Support PG installation engineering manager to ensure proper balance between project needs, tender support needs and adequate level of expertise within the team in line with the Pipeline Group remit, budget and objectives
  • Ensure engineers are well aware of BMS and PM7 processes
  • Ensure timely performance of all PMRs and report on individuals’ career aspirations

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

  • Professional qualifications – Degree qualified or above. Preferably in Ocean, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • More than 5 years' experience in installation or construction projects
  • Proficient with Orcaflex
  • Familir with Abaqus
  • Python and VBA work experiences are desirable
  • Able to work in teams
  • Sound communication skills
  • Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work
  • Ability to communicate at all levels within the organization
  • A demonstrable commitment to HSE and Quality
  • Shall be self-motivated and have well developed interpersonal skills
  • A willingness to travel on short assignments overseas
  • Can work to deadlines set by management
