Essential Responsibilities:

  • Design and tune the controller to optimize the turbine performance and operation, while assessing the results through software-in-the loop simulations
  • Support application & requisition engineering teams, providing solutions to enhance application space in close collaboration with Loads and simulation engineers.
  • Provide wind turbine controls expertise through all phases of product development, from early design till the final deployment
  • Provide recommendations through the analysis, preparation and presentation of technical data to internal and external customers
  • Write technical documentation, deliver presentations, attend technical design reviews
  • Develop and enhance control strategies and algorithm that help optimizing the wind turbine loads and performance
  • Support the certification process along the chain from simulation to experimental validation
  • Contributes to continuous improvement in methods and tools for Control design

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • MS or BS Degree in relevant Engineering field (Control & Automation, Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronic Engineering, etc.)
  • Knowledge of controls system theory, design and applications, preferably for Wind Turbines or other industrial application (aerospace, automotive, transportation, energy systems)
  • Experience in first principle modelling, control requirements definition and translation into design
  • Proficiency in Wind turbine aero elastic simulations (Flex5, GH-GL Bladed, Simpack, etc.)
  • Proficiency in MATLAB - Simulink
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
