The cyber security position will lead and be an innovator of cyber security solutions that will protect and improve the security posture for Occidental Petroleum’s Industrial Control Systems (ICS) environment. The position will work closely with internal and external resources to contribute the development, implementation, and compliance of security policies and procedures for the ICS environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
  • 2 or more years of experience in the information security field
  • Experience with Windows Servers, Linux/UNIX, enterprise anti-virus, endpoint security, application whitelisting technologies, SIEM, logging configurations, IDS/IPS, authentication methods, TCP/IP, packet capture and analysis
  • Experience performing vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and vulnerability management
  • Experience performing threat modeling and security review to assess new designs and security requirements for new technologies
  • Experience with responding to security related incidents, incident response, conducting table top exercises
  • Experience with developing procedures and runbooks for a SOC
  • Experience with analyzing system, application, security, network logging data from a SIEM to create actionable work tasks for a SOC, IT security analysts, or other IT staff
  • Knowledge of cyber security frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS, and Mitre ATT&CK
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to a non-technical audience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting international IT systems and networks
  • Experience with implementing security tools and procedures for Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with scripting languages to automate workflows
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, user account management, and multi-factor authentication
  • Knowledge of the Oil and Gas industry and ICS environments
  • IT certifications are desirable such as CISSP, CEH, GICSP, Cisco CCENT/CCNA
