Georgia-Pacific is currently are seeking a Construction/Capital Project Manager – CPG Engineering join our CPG Engineering team.  This position could be based in Green Bay, WI, Atlanta, GA, Leigh Valley, PA with potential for remote opportunities. The selected individual will create value by leading project teams in the development and implementation of projects using the Georgia-Pacific Capital Project Work Process.  This position is responsible for the implementation of multiple, concurrent mid-size projects, ensuring delivery on-time, on budget and on strategy.

The CPG Engineering team consists of 170 individuals across the United States working with our 15 Tissue Towel and Napkin mills and our 8 Dixie facilities on capital project execution as well as run-ability of current assets.  We are engineers, project managers and designers focused on a quality delivery.  We partner with our mills as one team, one vision, one result. 

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • As Project Manager on Converting Tissue/Towel Machine projects, this position will
    • Develop investment proposals
    • Develop scopes & estimates
    • Write equipment and performance specifications
    • Develop execution plans
    • Team management, leading multi-discipline teams and external engineering firms
    • Manage project schedule and track engineering progress
    • Ensure capable field technical support and construction management resources and systems are in place to drive project success and EH&S excellence
    • Execute project cost tracking and reporting
  • Organize and execute activities that will deliver projects as defined in the Scope of Work and project justification proposal.  This includes design, construction/installation, commissioning, start-up and documentation activities
  • Expected 35% travel, but up to 50%
  • Economic thinking when evaluating alternatives, equipment, vendors and contractors
  • Exercise 10,000 compliance relative to environmental, safety and business practices

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher OR seven (7) years of experience in Construction/Capital Project Manager
  • Five (5) or more years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Three (3) or more years’ experience leading and implementing engineering projects
  • Experience working with MS Office products including Excel, PowerPoint, & Word

  • Five (5) or more years’ experience leading and implementing engineering paper making projects
  • Two (2) or more years’ experience in tissue making process
