Recommended sound (noise) pressure control level for offshore facilities according to industry standards.

Flares

During Normal Operation (no significant flaring), the maximum sound level of the flares should not exceed 85 dBA at grade level.

During Emergency condition, Start-up or Shut-down, the maximum sound level of the flares should not exceed 115 dBA at grade level.

Air Coolers

The maximum equivalent continuous sound level at 1 meter from Air Coolers should not exceed 80 dBA.

Control Valves and Restriction Orifices

The maximum equivalent continuous sound level at 1 meter from each Control Valve or from each Restriction Orifice operating continuously should not exceed 80 dBA in each operating condition (minimum, normal, maximum sizing conditions).

Vent Discharging to Atmosphere

Vents intended for continuous service (or normal operation) should not exceed a maximum equivalent continuous sound level of 81 dBA at 1 meter.

Emergency Noise Sources: PSV, BDV, PRV, CV, RO and Vents

The maximum equivalent continuous sound pressure level at 1 meter from Emergency Cargo Vent TM2300FK001 shall not exceed 142 dBC (considering location at 70m height from main deck in P01). This requirement permits to ensure noise impact below 115 dBA in accessible areas during emergency.

PSV, BDV, PRV, CV, RO and Vents and their piping intended for emergency use should not exceed a maximum sound level above 110 dBA in any working area.

Piping & Fittings

The maximum sound level at 1 meter from pipes and fittings should not exceed 80 dBA.

Waste Heat Recovery Unit and Air Handling Unit

The maximum equivalent continuous sound level at 1 meter from Waste Heat Recovery Unit and Air Handling Unit should not exceed 80 dBA.
